OVERVIEW OF DRILLING TECHNOLOGY

After the exploration of petroleum workers will find oil storage block, the use of special equipment and technology, in the pre-selected surface location, down or one side to drill a certain diameter cylindrical hole, and drill underground oil and gas layer work, called drilling.

Drilling plays a very important role in various tasks of petroleum exploration and oilfield development. The search and verification of oil-bearing structures, the acquisition of industrial oil flows, the exploration of oil-bearing areas and reserves of proven oil-bearing structures.

The acquisition of relevant geological and development data of oilfields, and finally the extraction of crude oil from the ground to the surface are all accomplished by drilling.

Drilling is an important link in the exploration and exploitation of oil and natural gas resources and an important means of oil exploration and development.

The petroleum exploration and development process is composed of many stages of different nature and different tasks. In different stages, the purpose and mission of drilling are also different. Some are to explore oil storage structures, while others are to develop oil fields and extract crude oil. In order to meet the needs of different stages and different tasks, drilling types can be divided into the following.

Reference well:

A well drilled during the regional survey phase to understand the sedimentary characteristics and hydrocarbon content of a formation, to validate geophysical exploration results, and to provide geophysical parameters. Bedrock is usually drilled and full well coring is required.

Profile well:

A well drilled along a large regional profile in an overlay area. The purpose is to expose the regional geological profile, study the lithology, lithofacies changes and search for structure. It is mainly usingd for regional census.

Parametric well:

A well drilled in an oil-bearing basin to provide petrophysical parameters for the understanding of the regional structure. Parametric Wells are mainly using in the comprehensive detailing survey phase.

Structural well:

A well drilled in order to prepare a structural map of a standard underground layer, understand its geological structure characteristics, and verify the results of geophysical exploration.

Exploration WELL:

A well drilled TO DETERMINE the EXISTENCE of an oil OR gas RESERVOIR, delineATE ITS BOUNDARIES, PERFORM industrial EVALUATION of THE reservoir.

And OBTAIN geological DATA necessary FOR OIL AND gas development within a favorable OIL-COLLECTING structure or oil and gas field.

The Wells drilled in each exploration stage can be dividing into pre-exploration Wells, preliminary exploration Wells, detailing exploration Wells and so on.

Data well:

A well drilled for the purpose of preparing a programme for the development of oil and gas fields, or for obtaining data during the development process for certain thematic studies.

Production well:

A well drilling to extract oil and natural gas when an oil field is being developing. Production Wells can be dividing into oil Wells and gas Wells.

Water injection (gas) well:

A well drilled to replenish and utilize formation energy by injecting water and gas into an oil field to improve recovery and development rates.

A well specially drilling for water injection is calling an injection well or gas injection well, sometimes referring to as an injection well.

Inspection well:

A well drilled to find out the pressure and distribution of oil, gas and water in each reservoir, the distribution and change of remaining oil saturation, and the effect of various adjustment and tapping measures when the oilfield development reaches a certain water-cut stage.

Observation well:

A well designed to understand the subsurface behavior of an oil field during its development. Such as observation of all kinds of oil layer pressure, water cut change law and single water flooding law! It generally does not burden production tasks.

Adjustment well:

A well (including production well, injection well, observation well, etc.) drilled to adjust the original development well pattern in the middle and later stages of oilfield development to further improve the development effect and ultimate recovery.

In these Wells, the pressure in the production zone may be low due to late production or high due to energy retention in the injection well.

Drilling technology:In the development of the whole oilfield, there are several stages of exploration, construction and production. Each stage is related to each other, and all of them need to carry out a lot of drilling work! High quality, fast and efficient drilling is an important means of oilfield development!

Our company insists on continuous technological innovation, porsues excellence, and returns our customers with excellent quality, reliable quality, reasonable price and considerate service.
